Hello there! I’m Christine. 🙂 Here’s a little bit about me:
I love cooking delicious and healthy vegan recipes. Especially so with fruits and vegetables grown from my own backyard!
I’ve started this blog as a way to document my growth in the kitchen as well as the growth of my garden.
I started cooking regularly during my college years when I was trying to save every penny I could. I had lots of oatmeal, spaghetti, and beans and rice. Over time, money became less of an issue (thank goodness!). I was getting more and more interested in what makes food delicious. My focus changed to learning how to create the best version of a dish, instead of something cheap that was just good enough to sustain me through the week.
I’m no 5 star chef, but I’m constantly trying out new recipes and working on perfecting basic techniques in the kitchen. I’ll be posting recipes I’ve adapted from cool blogs all over the net, as well as some of my original creations.
Garden and other projects
As for gardening, my significant other and I started our first backyard garden in the spring of 2019, and it was an amazing experience! You can read more on the details of that on my spring 2019 garden post.
Sometimes other projects I’m working on will sneak in too. For example, I enjoy cross-stitching and making macramé plant hangers. I might occasionally post the finished results of those if they are especially nice.
When I’m not in the kitchen or the garden, I’m either practicing yoga or curled up on the couch watching episodes of CSI with my beloved Mr. Cat.
I hope you’ve enjoyed learning a little bit about me. I’d love to inspire you to try out new things and get a little dirty yourself.
